Mom: (laughs) "What? Do you mean shoulders?"
Braxten: (Laughs) "Yes... Shoulders, I was just kidding!"

*SIGH*

It was just 5 short years ago when we were blessed with our first little one Braxten. New parents that didn't know what to expect and who were scared and anxious and we were blessed with the most perfect first child any parent could ask for. Being the first you had to live through all our mistakes in raising you and you are able to bounce back from every one of them. As a baby you were so sweet and so happy we had no complaints and you were patient and taught us how to be parents. At 6 months, by no fault of your own (your leg) you ended up putting us through one of the most grueling tests a parents can ever face, it pushed mommy and daddy to a point where we broke and never truly recovered from it and still you were there, happy as can be, forgiving for all that you were put through and mommy and daddy couldn't have been happier to just be with and have you. You are so smart, so intelligent and so funny. You have graced us with such sayings as... sasasa say... MAONEY.... whaT?....lasterday and lasternight... and I thought I was going to puke!
You can give looks to kill and were the only baby I have ever known that could make someone feel like an idiot for trying to entertain you. You teach me just as much as I teach you... we are growing together everyday and everyday you amaze me in the wonder you find in the world and in the innocence childhood holds. Even though it may not seem like it I love spending every moment I have with you wondering, exploring, questioning, and laughing. You are the best biggest brother any child could ask for... you give the fair share of teasing but you will step up for one of your brothers in a moment. You make me laugh with your excuses and what you find as injustices of life (eating two more bites of dinner, not watching Spiderman 3 everyday, and writing your name) your quick wit and the fact that you wont let mommy and daddy slip up. You grasp concepts I didn't know a five your old could (somewhat the value of money and time, also the value of keeping your room clean and how huffy you get when others mess up your room!) You are caring and responsible beyond what I thought any five year old could be. You understand tears and mommies sadness and know when I need a hug and when I need to laugh! I have so many memories with you and I look forward to watching you grow up and learn all that you have to teach me. I look forward to every stage you will hit and I will cry as it passes, I will cry when I no longer hear you say mommy but mom, the first time you go to bed without my stories and kisses, the first day of school that is fast approaching, your first time you step out that door on your own!! You are my oldest but will always be my baby, the one who molds me as a parent and adult just as much as I mold you! I love you! I can't believe you are five!!

The mothers day Frame!!!

So I know you have all been waiting so eagerly to see this and now its going to be all blah... But here it is. The mother's day frame I made my mom. I took this pic with my phone so its not the best but ya know.

The Best!!!

So I got this from Mistie's blog but I had to let everyone else know that I love it too!! That and it will be easier for me to watch when I know where it is on my blog. Anyway, it is a commercial for the Discovery Channel and it is by far my FAVORITE commercial EVER!!! I love the Discovery Channel and like Ice Road Truckers, Deadliest Catch, Man Vs. Wild (thanks Mistie!) and Planet Earth.... One day I will own all the Planet Earth videos. My boys and Kyle love the channel too, our problem, well my problem is I forget about it and end up watching all the sitcoms and stuff. Anyway... This is my favorite commercial and just tonight I have watched this video about 15 times. Don't believe me? Ask Kyle, he is the one banging his head on the wall! Anyway So here it is in all its glory...

Mistie and Connor said they liked the shorter version better but I like this version the best!!

Summer Days!!!

So after the boys had a late night on Friday (we had some friends and their kids over). On Saturday morning. OK fine Saturday afternoon at about 10:50 our neighbor came over and asked if we would like to go outside and play in their pool with them. So we put sunscreen on our boys canceled our plans to go shopping and had some serious fun in the sun, and by serious fun in the sun I mean like 3.5 hours. We even put out our slip and slide and a sprinkler to help keep the parents cool. Till our boys let us know, by way of crying that they were done. So we brought them inside and laid them down for a much needed nap and I sent Kyle to the store to get BBQ supplies.
Here is Braxten in their pool, it had a cool slide on it too!

Nice action shots of Gannon on the slip and slide.

While he was gone my mom, dad, and cousins Kristie and Michelle that were in from North Carolina came by and hung out with us. Than at about 5 my friend Cassie and her boyfriend Joey showed up with their kids Madison and Aiden. So the boys were off again to play out back on the trampoline with the water on and also play on the slip and slide.

Madison was done playing out back by the time I took out the camera but here is a picture of her because she is just too cute not to post!!

They had a blast and we ate some wonderful BBQ (thanks Babe!) than at about 945 they FINALLY went to sleep! We have had a wonderful day and I am excited for another (I get to go shopping so of course I am excited!!) Anyway I think it is official, summer is here!!
This is just a cute picture of Jackson (I have no clue why it did that shadowy thing)! I had to dig out summer clothes for him, turns out we don't have any summer clothes for him! Nice huh!!

He looks like Kirk...

THANK YOU DEBBIE!!!

Last post tonight!! Promise... Wow a lot of posts for one day!! So Debbie I have to say THANK YOU!! You are such a sweet sweet person to think of me and my boys in all that you do!! The LOVE LOVE LOVE the snakes!!!

Obsessed Much?

So our sweet Gannon... sweet, funny, loveable, odd, wonderful Gannon is OBSESSED with lawn mowers or "mowews" as he calls them (he says his r's as w's). So we are all at the park for mothers day getting ready to sing Happy Birthday to my grandma since her birthday is May 14th, Gannon was the one that insisted we sing and eat cake at that moment so we go to have Gannon start singing but where is he? We look around and he is standing outside of someones chain link fence in a trance... I walk over and say "Gannon, we are going to sing to G.G." and he says "He's mowewing" I had to PRY him away from the fence, he sang ate a half piece of cake and was right back over to watch the guy mowew. Than we went to my parents house and hung out and he kept asking my mom if she had a mower and she said yes and he says "Can I see it?" so he wouldn't believe it till he saw it... Than he asked if she would mow the lawn and she said no not on mothers day... than he asked her like every 5 min... what color is it? Can I see it? Will you mower? It was very cute... And this isn't new either! Last year for his birthday this was his birthday cake!

Everytime I mow the lawn Gannon is under me mowing along with me! Cute little things that make Gannon our wonderful sweet funloving Gannon!! And now for 2 cute pics of the boys at mothers day lunch! There are more but since I never take a camera anywhere I am waiting for Jenn to send me the pics because she is smart and takes her camera everywhere!!!

Race for the Cure Part 2: The Pics

So here it is!! The pics of this great day! We met some Idaho Power people but than went off and just did the walk as a family! Here we all are before we head over to the start of the race....
Than we decided to take pics of all of us and at the start line...
Than we decided to shake it up a bit and do sets of 3!!!
From L to R: Jen, Amber and Me
From L to R: Mom, Grandma and Virna
Than there was our 2 youngest racers! Cool Jackson...
And cute little Ashlyn
The race starts with the bikers... and they play music and its seriously like heart wrenching... and than you count down and you are all pumped up to go and you stand in place for the next like 3 min till you get to finally go!!!
This is as we are walking... its seriously people as far as you can see.... down a 4 lane street, its sooo cool to see the people who are out there and how they show their support.... There was a little old lady who power walked it all by herself in memory of her daughter... so sweet!!

So this wore Jackson out (I only took Jackson with me because Gannon got sick on Friday and I didn't want him to get Jackson sick... I wasn't going to take any of them!)

Than we went to Applebees:

Ok that is just a cute picture of Jackson and I wanted to post it... And this next one of Jackson and Ashlyn is sooooo cute... And Jackson looks EXACTLY like Kirk did when he was little! (right mom?)
Ok so I am done posting about the race for the cure... but it truly was awesome!

Oh Mothers Day!!!

As my husband says “this is a day to test a family!” Well ain’t that the truth!! I woke up at 3 on mother’s day to a child who wanted to make sure that I still knew he was there (Jackson, I will always know you are there! You don’t have to remind me about it at 3am… I dream about you and you are always on my mind… If only you knew : ) ) Anyway… So I was able to go right back to sleep and was woken up again at around 7 by Jackson… So I grabbed him and I started my mothers day with a wonderfully smiling baby who cooed and told me all about his wonderful night! Kyle rolled over and said “Do you want me to make you breakfast?” I said I didn’t want to do that and make a mess and all of that so we decided to head to IHOP… we are thinking IHOP at 8am we made it before all the church goers… Turns out not so much…. It was PACKED… overflowing! So we drove around and finally decided on Burger King… Not a traditional mothers day breakfast but nice! Than we were off to Wal-Mart, Kyle wasn’t able to go shopping for me because Gannon got sick on Friday and Saturday was a crazy hectic day! So he set off to get me something and I set off to get something for my mom (I procrastinated… but not on purpose… I was going to pick something up Thursday night while grocery shopping but it didn’t work out!) Anyway so we were running around Wal-Mart trying to find things.. .We finally get done and headed home… I had to make my mom her present so I made a HUGE mess of our room by taking out all my scrapbooking things and I actually am quit proud of what I made in what time I had… I will post a pic later! Anyway… I was surprised by the movie Juno, socks (of course!!) 2 shirts, 4 candles, and what sounds like it is going to be an awesome book! THANKS RICH!! (side note: Braxten told Kyle on Friday that he wanted to go shopping for me… he said he wanted to get me books and candles, does the kid know me or what?) So we took off to the park… Which we were almost an hour late for! Had a wonderful time at the park (pics to come) and than we went to my parents and watched the boys and my mom blow bubbles like madmen (and spill bubbles all over the porch!) Than we rushed home… had about 45 min before Kyle’s sister headed over and spent some time with us since we haven’t seen her for so long so it was nice. While she was there we cleaned our filthy boys (its amazing how dirty a kid can get in less than 24 hours!!) Anyway we are out visiting and all of a sudden we hear Braxten say “Smell it, Smell it, Now take it” its from a preview that was on Iron Man for Adam Sandler’s new movie ‘You don’t mess with the Zohan’ you can see it at this site:

http://www.firstshowing.net/2007/12/12/adam-sandlers-you-dont-mess-with-the-zohan-trailer/

that part is at 2:11… Anyway it cracked us up to randomly hear Braxten say that! So than Kyle’s parents came over and hung out, than I went to check my e-mail and found out I could take my exam (for those of you who don’t know about this wonderful experience you can ask because I am not writing it!) Anyway so I took that at like 730 or 8 and got done around 930 and had to go out and write 3 page instructions for my grandma on watching the boys because it was last minute (Mistie I hope your family is feeling better!!) and she knew nothing about their schedules or anything! Anyway after a very exhausting day I got in bed around 1050… heard something right before I fell asleep so I had to go look and see what it was (nothing, like always) than I lay in bed for the next like hour thinking of all the stuff I have to get done in this month!! Well it was a good mothers day!! Long and hectic but worth every minute of it to hear Gannon come up and say “Mom I just wanted to say Happy Mothers Day and I love you” Without being told to do so!! I love my boys and I love my Kyle! Thanks guys! Without you this day wouldn’t have been possible…Get it? I woulnd’t be a mother? Anyway…. That’s that!

Race for the Cure

So Saturday I went and participated in the Susan G. Komen race for the cure. I walked in celebration of our friends Robyn and Roxanne and we also walked in memory of my grandpa and my dear sweet Dani! Although they didn't die from breast cancer they did die from cancer and they were fresh on my mind! I always think to myself when my mom asks me to do this race, do I really want to? And than I remember the flood of emotion that goes through me every time I participate in this walk/run. Every time I have done this I have been brought almost to tears. Everyone wears little signs on their back that show in celebration of or in memory of and every time I see a group of children and a father that have an in memory of our mom I am brought to tears. I feel so good about being involved in this every year and I will continue to be involved and I will also get my husband and boys involved. Its a good cause. I love all the people who come out too... there are the bickers who start the race and than there is a TON of young people who come and I think that is awesome. I also love when you see the first runner come back around and than you see the next 20 to 30 and they are ALL men, I think that is awesome that they are showing their support. And people come up with these wonderful shirts. My favorite for years has been Hiken for Hooters... although there was one this year that gave it a run for its money... It was "Save Second Base" Get it? I think its funny anyway.... If anything else it was an excuse for me to get my sister in laws, my mom, aunt and grandma together and have a fun day and than go out to lunch! All in all I love the experience and while next year I will go... OH no not again... I will remember that I truly do love doing this even if I don't want to!!

Pictures are coming!!

Getting Ready!!!

So we are trying to get Braxten all ready for kindergarten. They sent us home a booklet of activities that we can do with the boys. So the other night we tried one by putting some ketchup and mustard in zip lock bags and having them draw on the outside of the bag. It was fun... just not as fun as it could have been... Here are some pics!!

Yes Gannon is sucking on the bag in this pic and shortly after got it taken away because he popped a hole in it.

Movie Mom

So you know that commercial where the woman has the four boys and the car insurance guy is there and there is pure chaos. Well I just had one of those moments. I was on the phone with my school and Braxten runs in and is crying, I ask him what is wrong and he holds out his toy and says... 'Gannon put my toy in the toilet' So I go in to the bathroom because if Gannon is putting toys in the toilet than its probably overflowing. (side note: Braxten just came and told on Gannon... Are you ready for this? For spraying water in Pedro's WATER bowl... Funny boy!)
